Biomass is the Estonian biggest source of renewable energy with total installed capacity of 118,85 MW. In 2016 743 GWh of electricity was produced from biomass which accounts for 52% of the whole renewable production. Oct 01, 2017 · Tallinn municipal energy utility OÜ Utilitas Tallinna Elektrijaam, a subsidiary of Estonia-based Utilitas Energy Group has officially inaugurated a new biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant with 67 MW thermal and 21.4 MW electric capacity in Tallinn, Estonia. The plant will supply up to 20 percent of the city's district heating needs.
